Taggin’ It Up

Most clothing companies that are young, make themselves legit by screen printing labels on the inside of the shirts. It is by all means a great style, it is done by a lot of big companies, and it also leaves out that itchy tag. I wanted to go a different route and make tags for the bottom seam of the shirt. It is out of the way and adds some flavor to the shirt.

Here is the design I made up. It is made to be folded in half and sewn at the top.

Then I printed it on a trasparency to get them ready for print.

Printing was easy. I bought a polyster with a little bit of cotton blend piece of fabric. I then printed, dried and moved down to keep printing. They all printed well and then I cut them out.

The problem though, they are on the big side, which get in they way and become just as annoying as the ones scratching your neck. So now its time to resize them and get back to work!

Hello!

It has been a while since I have posted on the Tulare House website, but thanks to Barrett, he revamped the site and we are back in action! 2011 was a busy printing year for me and now its time to shift gears and get Tulare House back on the map. Here are some things that have happened:

Started working with tattoo artist/graphic designer Peter Quintanilla. He has great drawing skill and good understanding of Tulare House.

Jake stepped up his art game with these landscape style canvasses.

The shading and shadows really bring the painting to life!

After breaking my ankle on the BMX, I had to switch it up to a single speed (now fixed) gear bike. Still fun to shred around town.

Went to Maine and climbed a mountain! Reppin’ the Oval Ink.

Saw a whale while I was there and a lot of puke, unfortunately. People need to get themselves some sea legs.

On the plane ride back from Maine, I was real high…..in the air of course and realized that the lighthouse would be perfect as the symbol of Tulare House.

And most importantly, my brother has started brewing beer! Legit and he is not scared to make sure it is high in alcohol. Here is his home made beer sculpture. DIY at its finest.

It is good to be back and I am ready to start new designs and projects. Keep an eye out for the lighthouse, for it will show you the way!
